"Telephone Poll's"--Are They a Little Early?

We have had the opportunity to respond to telephone polling for more than a few instances over the recent days. As a active political blogger, more questions come to mind, some are easily answered, others more complex.

As Election Day nears, (1 month and counting down), the only question of any importance follows. We hope that readers will take the time to answer it thoughtfully. Take the time to write your response in the comment section, add your reasons if you wish. It will give all townsfolk a better idea of how their neighbors are thinking and what is most important to them this Election Year.

One Simple Question:
Knowing what you know to date, how would you cast your Vote for :
  • Supervisor of the Town of Ulster?
  • Town Councilman (you get 2)
  • Town Judge
  • County Legislators for District #5.
The Future is YOURS!--Let the Voting Begin!

  1. Supervisor--Quigley
    Town Council--Morrow/Hendrick
    Judge--Kesick
    Legislators--Wadnola/Maloney

I just heard the Town's budget #'s and Nick is using the budget to save a few votes, the trouble is it's bogus, he's borrowing from the UPD to cover his shortfall and he's banking on working a little harder next year if he can only get re-elected.
Either way it's a slap in the face to all resident's of the town and this sleight of hand tactic won't fool anyone, NICK we know what you are, just ask Uncle Stevie and Zweben, truth is you gotta go boy, you've sh*t on us too long, you've treated us like a door mat and gave the keys to the treasury to the good ol' boys at our expense.
We know the sales tax numbers are down, big time, we know the mortgage tax #'s are down big time, we know the overtime at UPD is up , again, all your shenanigans can't fool us anymore.
GET THE F" OUTTA DODGE WHILE YOU STILL HAVE YOUR LINCOLN, FAT BOY!

  2. Voting Indy across the board.

You heard budget numbers, Do Tell!!!

  3. 3:18 The budget was passed to the Town CLerk this evening, by law it must be ready for scrutiny by the 30th of Sept, and it should be up on the town web site very soon if not already,
the boy king has played with the #'s and is offsetting expenses to next year, it does 2 things, it makes him look good for the election and if he should win, he has the next 2 years to pass along the real expenses ie high property tax increases without the jeopardy of losing an election and if he loses it leave the incoming administration with a tough nut to crack and probably a high tax increase and some bad press as well.
This boy king is a shrewd character, and we have been paying the price for the past 4 years, if he gets good press on the budget, he takes the focus off uncle Stevie, that Nazi Zweben, riding roughshod over the residents, ignoring us all and possibly saving his career. Again all at our expense.
This Guy's gotta go, the hole we are in is pretty deep, don't give him the chance to start filling it in while we're still in it!
Wake up Ulster, Nick is bad news in triplicate. and we don't need to give any more of our treasure to the likes of Al Spada, Andy Zweisal Steve (land) B aaron and the likes of Primo Oliveri, Bichkert etc etc etc etc etc.

  4. Quigley, Morrow, Secreto, Cahill, Maloney

Hendricks ran as a Democrat last time, Wadnola had his turn and he didn't do all that well.

    ReplyDelete
  5. The only ones I am sure of are Quigley,Secreto and Cahill.
    Woerner has to go.
The town now has something for the kids to do thanks to Secreto.
Cahill has done a very good job.
After what Maloney did on the Independence line, I will never vote for him again.
Wadnola is retired and should stay that way.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Quigley, Morrow, Hendrick & Moloney for sure, I haven;t decided between Wadnola & Cahill yet.
Quigley knows his stuff and with the economy in shambles and the town broke, (thanks to Nicky boy), he's the right guy at the right time.
Morrow is a straight shooter and his own man, you wont find anyone pulling his strings, refreshing after the 'Yes Man' Brothers Grimm, (the Brinks'), always voting the way Nick tells them.
Secreto is a thug, he is better suited for the Sopranos than a seat on our town board. His actions recently getting caught taking down the oppositions information from doorways is just one example of how this guy works, besides without Nick & Zweben telling him how to vote he might have a tough time finding 2 brain cells to activate for a decision.
Hendrick did a good job as tax collector, she may be a little gullible when it comes to the dirty politics the town is use to, (remember how Nick threw her under the bus las election), but she know how to best utilize our tax dollars.
Maloney is Maloney, if nothing else he's one of the hardest working representatives this town has ever had.
Brian Cahill and Fred Wadnola are nice guys, although Brian is a little caustic at times, (short tempered), either will do an adequate job, I'm not sure which party ran the county legislator better, (or worse if you like), the Reps had control a long time but if you ask me the Dems have acted like old washwomen since they've had control and have really done NOTHING, I think with the Legislators we need to throw them all out and start new for the county to have a chance. THUS MY QUANDARY!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Supervisor - Woerner for sure.

He has what it takes to be a master politician. He can lie, cheat and steal with a straight face. Propose a beleivable budget when from Albany to Kingston the budgets are broken, but in the Town everything is rosey. Quigley's Boy Scout attitude does not fly in the dirty world of politices in the Town of Ulster.

Secreto and Artist because the boy king Nickie needs to be surrounded by Yes men to get what he needs done.

Now comes the hard decision. Cahill - Maloney - Wadnola. I pass.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I hope 5:26 is joking, the thought of voting for a thief again is turning my stomach.
If he means to get what AARON & ZWEBEN need to be done, he's right because 'the boy King' hasn't addressed what needs to be done on behalf of the people since he's in office!
I hope he's not a resident, he embarrasses me.

    Quigley, Morrow, Hendrick & Cahill/Maloney,
Fred is a nice guy and an honest politician but I fear he lost the stomach for hard core dirty politics that is the every day of Ulster COunty.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 4:29 & 5:26 I agree with you on the Legislature, but I always go back to the core issue for me. Who raised the taxes more?

If you base it on that, it becomes a no brainer. The Democrats, if nothing else, have reduced the tax increases to practically nothing. I think my County taxes would have gone up less than $10 last year. But, once you figure in the new Fireman's tax exemption, it actually went down.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Quigley/Morrow/Hendrick/Kesick for town offices.

Cahill/Maloney are my choice for the Legislature.

This is one of the easiest elections for me in a long time. Not many hard choices to make at all.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 6:38
I hope you did not take the Fireman's exemption (if you are actually a fireman). Because NYS gave you a $200 tax credit last year(thanks to Republican Bonciac). So either you could have the 10 or 12 dollar county exemption or the $200 NY credit. Kind of a no-brainer isn't it?

Now add in Nicky the democrat's 23% increase and the descision should be easy. Dump Nicky. Whatever his increase is for the election year multiply by 10 for next year if he is re-elected (look at his history). And don't forget more PILOT's for all his friends.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 10:33
What if they did not have enough income to file a long form and claim the $200 deduction? It is possible. Some older EMS/Firefighters property taxes could be reduced by 10%, with the County & Town taxes (which are included), it could be a pretty decent savings for that person.

I Will give credit where credit is due and Cahill pushed this through from day 1.

Don't hate. Cahill works and gets results. Nothing wrong with that, no matter what party he is in.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It is not a shot at Cahill ( I voted for him). At least the county did something. However I have a pretty healthy tax bill from from the county on my house and the county tax break amounted to very little.

Also this was a $200 credit not deduction which means it was cash straight to you and I do not think you had to fill out a long form to get it. But I am not positive because I had to fill out the long form anyway.

Regardless even if you do take the county property tax it still doesn't make up for the hosing we took from the town increase last year.

I would be interested to hear how many took the county deal last year. This year there is no choice, I beleive NY canceled the tax credit.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I agree on the hosing we all took at the town level. Woerners tax increases look like the Swiss Alps with the peaks on non election years and the valleys on election years. VVVV

The real problem is the school taxes. When you figure that one out, let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  15. To Answer the questions regarding the NYS $200.00 tax credit for firemen and EMS workers or Ambulance drivers: 11:01 12:13 & 10:33

The State Tax form is IT-245 it allows a $200 tax credit for each taxpayer, ie $400.00 for you & your spouse. You don't need to do anymore than fill a NYS residence tax form ie it-201
It's hard to beat this credit with the 10% county property tax credit, I believe you may be entitled to both, check with your tax man.

No down to the real issues
I'm glad that no one is being fooled by the "Woerner Tax Cycle" that is to say non election yrs 25% increase and election year increases of only 4 or 5 % that still works out to an avg per year tax hike of better than 10%, and that is every year.
To think that this kid and his cohorts, Zweben & Aaron, think they can put it over on us yet again, that is just plain insulting.
    So here goes:
1 vote for Quigley, One for Morrow, One for Hendrick that ought to straighten out the town, as for the County, The dems are too wishy washy for me, they are spineless and I'm not at all happy with the way they have run the county since they've gotten control. The Jail is still an issue, the sheriff's dept is now just another political hazard and if you drive around the county you'll notice a lot more empty store fronts and houses.
They had their chance, I'll go Maloney/Wadnola and hope the Reps got the message, their re-elections aren't written in stone!
Now lets all sing the chorus
    Bye, Bye Nicky
    Bye, Bye Nicky
    Bye, Bye Nicky
We're glad to see you go!
You're just too Dicky, Just too Dicky, just too Dicky, you've really been a Pri**k
It may be a lousy song but it sounds good when you sing it acapella!

  16. I picked up a copy of the budget this morning and if you look into the #'s you might get a clue as to how Nick is pulling it off.
The line item that stands out the most is the Bond, Nick isn't paying down the Principle at all, he is only paying the interest, ??????? OK so the credit worthiness of the Town isn't as important to him as re-election, does that tell you a little something as to why we gotta get rid of this clown.
He is assuming he will not increase the Fire, Police etc Retirement Fund, at least until after the election, I wonder how the UPD feel about this?
he's using the Landfill reserve, well he's got to find the money somewhere.
he's actually giving Zweben a pay cut, I guess Zweben figures he can make up the difference and then some only if Nick gets re-elected!
Funny thing he's cut the budget item for drug enforcement, a crime that is growing faster than most in the town thus placing our children in jeopardy! Gotta love the thought process here, I guess anything, including the welfare of our children are worth OUR sacrifice for HIS re-election.
Please People, I'm begging you, check this out for yourselves, Nick is selling out our welfare so he can look 'fiscally responsible' on election day!
As far as responsible, i guarantee that ends the morning after and it will be business as usual, or the way things have been, Zweben, Aaron, Spada, Oliveri, Bickert, Artist, Primo etc etc etc

    Ok so Supervisor--Quigley
    Town Council--Morrow & Hendrick

And I'm having a tough time between Cahill & Wadnola, I've decided on Maloney & Kesick

  18. What is with all the signs? I mean 4x8 sheets, anchored with 4x4's,all over the place? What ever happened to "yard signs" to designate that an actual home owner is supporting a certain candidate? This is completely out of hand.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Don't you know that if you put your name in 24 inch letters at every intersection, it makes you a better candidate?

    ReplyDelete
  20. To the last 2 posts, There sure must be a lot of support for one team and one candidate for supervisor because there aren't very many signs for the other guy. I guess your neighbors are really trying to send a message because you need someone's permission , business or resident to place a sign on their property.
I drove past Nicky Boy's house dropping my daughter off at a friends yesterday and I counted no less than 6 of his neighbors have displays promoting the other guys, It must be embarrassing for him to ride thru his own neighborhood.
When a guys neighbors, I mean even the people right next door to him, are willing to show him to his face how they don't want any more of his crap for their town, IT REALLY SAYS SOMETHING!
How does he live with himself.
Besides it's harder for Secreto to trash the Republicans signs than it is for him to be taking their campaign material off of homeowners doors.
Quigley--Morrow--Hendrick--Kesick--Maloney for sure I got a problem with Cahill

    ReplyDelete
  21. Those obnoxious bill boards have to go whether they have permission or not. I hope when Jim becomes supervisor, he changes the sign law to prohibit those huge billboards. Lawn signs represent community support and that is ok with me. I could care less if every lawn had one on it, but those huge ones are terrible.

I am voting for Qugiley,Morrow,Secreto,Kesick, Cahill, and Wadnola.

I have a problem with Jim Maloney wearing 2 hats at once. One as the Assessor and the other as a Legislator. It isn't fair to have the person who sets the value of your property (or properties), asking you to vote for them or put a sign on your property or lawn. There is something wrong with that. I don't care what the court says, I don't agree with it and I don't have to vote for him. The courts get it wrong once in awhile too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Did anyone else notice that most of the signs for two of the candidates are in front of failed businesses, abandoned buildings or vacant land?

I am not so sure that is a message I would want to send to the voters. Vote for me, I stand for empty buildings, undeveloped lots and failed businesses.

Are they saying vote for failure?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Let's not lose focus here, it's not about the signs, really it's not.
It's about what or who is best for the town!
We know what we've had for 4 years, a snot nosed kid who did the bidding for friends and family at the expense of those who trusted him.
All the development in this town wont keep our children here after college. Unless they like working for 'White Castle' QuikCheck Sonic or Olive Garden.
None of these businesses will make up for the Favored tax treatment that the boy king gives out to his family and friends, these parasites of the community.
His actions are so questionable that he needs to keep a lawyer by his side just to make sure that he is legally screwing us, and we are paying the bill for that as well.

I've had enough of what we've got, times are getting tougher and tougher and we cant be this no nothings erector set any longer. We need real leadership to take us into the uncertain economic times which loom ahead.
Quigley is a successful business man, a CPA and a professional in every respect.
Morrow also a successful businessman brings with him years of experience not only in business but as a State Trooper.
Chris Hendrick showed her stuff while tax collector with the town and was the only one in Town Hall who had the cahones to stand up to Woerner in our behalf, thats why he thru her under the bus last election.
    Easy choices for me.
the tough ones are the legislators, not because they are either good or bad but our county legislator is so broken it reminds me of the state assembly, just a den of thieves waiting for another victim.
I think we need all new faces but there are still too many residents who cant break from their party even if its best for the county, that's a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  24. How many more businesses will close under the Woerner Tax and Spend Administration? Tax us and spend it on his friends.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have read a few posts that say the legislature is a tough decision. I totally disagree. Fred Wadnola had his turn and when he was there, it was a royal mess. While Fred was on the legislature the tax increases were significantly higher, building projects like the county courthouse, the DSS building where the Ulster shopping plaza was, the Probation building on Broadway, and the renovation of the County office building were all very late and all very over budget. The decision to buy the property for the new jail was done on Fred's watch. That was the begining of the end of that project.

I do not have selective memory like some people. Those are significant missteps and bad decisions and Fred was the Majority Leader for some of them.

That is why this is not a hard decision for me. Nothing even close to that has happened with Maloney and Cahill. Maloney came in after the jail fiasco had started and Cahill was there to clean up the mess.

Cahill and Maloney are the only reasonable choices for Legislature.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hey 2:38 AM

The NYS Court of Appeals ruled 35 years ago that an assessor can hold the ofice of County Leislator. I t also went through New York's two other Court's. Did they also get it wrong. I'm Voting for MALONEY for sure. He sood up to Judge Bradley's wrong decision. Bradley and his then law clerk Chris Cahill should have read the Court of Appeals decision......

    ReplyDelete
  27. Like most people, I do not agree with all legal opinions and this is one of the ones I do not agree with. I think it is wrong for the reasons I stated previously and I will vote accordingly by passing on Mr. Maloney.

BTW.. I think Mr. Maloney does a fine job as assessor, so it is not personal.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Amen 6:07:
God Bless America. We get to choose for reasons that we believe or don't believe in. No court or government should control that freedom.

    ReplyDelete
  29. With all the collusion in the Town of Ulster between the interests of Mr Aaron and the actions of the boy King (out side of family) why is this less an affront to the residents than Maloney's two hats.
Molaney has managed to perform both well and without question his actions are above board. That in itself shows me that he is aware of potential criticism and hence is transparent in every thing he does.
Woerner on the other hand uses his position to influence decisions to favor his friends and financial supporters at every turn, he empolys the devious tactics of the little Nazi, (Heir Zwben), to usurp the voice of the people and intimidate any opposition as he promotes favorable outcomes to all his 'friends' projects. These "FRIENDS OF WOERNER' his supporters, are some of the most loathsome characters this town has ever known, yet a hard worker, a real public servant like Maloney draws their ire.
I'm voting, Quigley, Morrow, Hendrick, Maloney and Cahill for the good of the town, for the good of the county.

    ReplyDelete
  30. whoaaaaaaaaa wait a minute there. I never equated the absolute poor performance of the Woerner administration with Maloney's two positions. Two completely different issues.

Let's keep the apples with the apples and the oranges with the oranges.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 7:05 My comment wasn't to compare the two positions, but as far as integrity is concerned, Maloney's character is considerably more credible than the 'CHARACTER' that is Woerner, a boy without integrity, lacking in moral fortitude and incapable of even the simplest of ethical behavior.
By the way he's been doing a lot of hiding at Uncle Stevies Hardware Store "F'U & Keepit, on Smith Ave.
That is their situation Room, god only know what devious plans to convolute the election are being devised there.

  32. As a member of the Democratic Party and former Chairman and Committeeman, I am in receipt of the letter posted below.
I applaud Rosalind Stark’s unwavering ‘Democratic Integrity’, she and her late husband are two of the finest fellow Democrats I have ever known.
For myself, always outspoken and sometimes abrasive, I must take her letter one step further.
As you will read, she has politely omitted an endorsement for the current Democratic Slate for the Town of Ulster. I feel there is a more important message sent in this omission and will take it one step further.
“I will most certainly support the entire Democratic ticket at the County Level, they truly stand for the values I have learned to appreciate.”
I further ask my fellow Democrats to heed her unspoken message:
The Current Democratic Administration has embarrassed me and many fellow Democrats. Their policies, practices and ideals are not representative of what good Democrats stand for!
So I ask you: Do not simply vote for the Town of Ulster Democratic Candidate, vote with the integrity of Rosalind Stark and vote for the best candidate for “Your” Town!

    “The Letter”

    “Dear Fellow Democrat,

Although you have not attended the town of Ulster democratic committee meetings recently, I hope you have continued your interest and support of the Democratic Party and its principles.

At present we are concerned with the upcoming elections. In addition to the town board elections, there are contests for county judge, county clerk, Saugerties county legislative seats. I hope you will support Deborah Schneer for county court judge, Guilda Riccardi for county clerk, Brian Cahill for District 4 county legislator and Gary Bischoff and his team for Saugerties county legislators.

As a beneficiary of Medicare, I am a proponent of a similar, single payer system for all in the US. It works well. No need for convoluted arrangements that profit the insurance companies. I think this a very important issue.

There are several events you may support and attend, locally. The Ulster County Democratic Women are hosting a dessert party to meet women candidates. 315 Wall St., Kingston at 7 PM. This venue is the storefront campaign headquarters.

    Sept. 15, Primary Day.

Lawn signs may show after Sept. 7th. Contact 315 Wall St., Kingston, campaign headquarters for signs.

Please feel free to respond this letter.
    Sincerely,

    Rosalind Stark

Thank you Roz, I am honored to call you “Fellow Democrat”. Thank you for your lifelong commitment to ‘True Democratic Ideals”!

  33. He nodded hello and just walked past myself & my wife, Talk about a quitter, Brian Cahill was walking my neighborhood this afternoon, Yeah I've got a few signs on my lawn, you might think I have made my mind up, but the truth is aside from the Town, I'm solid there, no more Woerner, I am remaining open minded for the legislature, I actually waited for him to come up my walk, there were questions I hoped he could answer, and I wanted him to make his case. We had a visitor so I was slightly distracted but like i said one nod later and he was gone.
There is a good chance he walked away from 2 votes, mine and my wife's. Now I don;t know how I should feel, can any politician afford to take any of us for granted, I thought not but I must be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  34. How do you know Cahill is not coming back? Maybe he didn't want to interrupt your visit, that is quite possible you know.

    ReplyDelete
  35. If you had signs on your lawn, how is anyone taking a you for granted? Maybe writing you off, but certainly not "taking you for granted".

If you have a candidates opposition signs on your lawn seriously, who and why should someone stop?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Earth to 4:29.

If you have signs in your yard, it is a fair assumption that you have indeed made up your mind. To call someone a quitter becuase they passed you over, is grossly unfair. Just curious, are you a Republican, Democrat or 3rd party? I am guessing a Republican or Conservative.

    ReplyDelete
  37. to the last 3 comments, I'll give you one thing, he may not have taken me for granted, but If I'm a candidate, I do not need to convince those already voting for me about who i am & what i stand for, I need to persuade those in opposition why I'm the better candidate, isn't that what campaigning is all about, or is it just preaching to the choir.
I expected more from him, truth is the reason I havn't made up my mind yet is because I really like him, I suppose I was looking for reasons to change my vote. You guys make a better case for Brian than he has done for himself. It's one of those things where I'll probably make up my mind in the voting booth.
    Thanks for your insight.

  39. Oh and specifically to 3:26, I never joined a party they are in themselves self serving and too exclusionary, differences of opinion have made this a stronger nation, and candidates should run on their qualifications and abilities, in the face of the prejudices that select groups impose on any opposition.
It's the better man, the party philosophy can only corrupt the individual. Divide and Conquer is no way to run a country.

  40. I am non enrolled and not happy with the way this town is heading- However when I drive down neighborhood road and see 79 signs (we counted)for one group of candidates in about 2/10 of a mile stretch- it is an eye sore and makes me sick of the whole system- I am not the only person who feels this way either- There are actually so many signs you cant even focus on one- We could get the message of Repulican support on neighborhood road with about 60 less signs- Had to get that off my chest Thank you- I feel better now

    ReplyDelete
  41. We need a sign law for that allows for campaign signs on residential houses only with a limit to the number of signs.

These signs will end up as pollution for 1/2 of the candidates too. Environmentally, these things are very bad.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 3:34 Re: Roz,
I agree with most of the comment, I have some problems with the facts though. There is no mention of Secreto or Artist, it's obvious that Roz is omitting the towns Dems although she fails to give reasons, I understand she can't after all she is a Democrat and a Loyal one. It sounds to me as though she is embarrassed that Woerne is running as a Democrat, well I am just as appalled that Artist and Secreto are the best Democrats we have running for the town board.
Both of these guys should be man enough to stand up to Woerner when some of the things he does just plain stink, Now we Democrats are probably going to lose these seats as well, after all who needs a yes man when the yes means screwing the taxpayers and playing to Nicky;s favorites.
Who are they working for, NICK OR THE TOWN?
I'm sure we could have found better candidates, just because they won once doesn't make them a sure thing.
Hope we can say good by to the three stooges,Nick, Craig & Rocky!

I agree with you that there are too many signs I have to ask this.

The Supervisor is not walking door - to - door to listen to the PEOPLE. The Supervisor does not return phone calls to the PEOPLE. The Supervisor does not care care what the PEOPLE think, he only cares about pleasing his masters in the City of Kingston.

So how are the PEOPLE going to express there opinion before election. By putting up multiple signs.

    GET THE MESSAGE?

  46. Don't you know the Boy King need not walk among the simple peasants of the Town of Ulster. His Barons, ie:Zweban, Oliveri, Aaron, Spada, Bichkert etc. sit at his round table and fill his head with delusions of grandeur, and he enacts proclamations on their behalf. HIgher taxes, lowers services etc tax favors and development rights!
He dictates to his minions, (I always wanted to use that word), Artist Secreto & the brothers Brink to vote YES and carry out his wishes.
I keep hearing that Rocky did a lot for the Rec dept. did you know that the fees for summer camp this last summer doubled, they increased in 08 as well. An he and Nicky filled the ranks of councilors with family & friends, there was even a bag of Marijuana found to belong to one of these councilors, a great testament to the thug Secreto. I asked the Parks employees how they felt about Secreto, detest is too mild a word. He treats his workers like he treats the residents, like we owe him something.
Easy, this election is the easiest in the town's history,
    Quigley, Morrow, Hendrick
the King is dead, long live the people!

  47. Why is it that there are more Woerner, Secreto, Artist signs in the city of Kingston than in the Town of Ulster????

    ReplyDelete
  48. why does nickyboy still live with his momy? is he that much relinent on his momy? does he ask momy how to run the town as well. or does swebin tell him that? maybe he can do what is write for the people of the town of ulster and drop out of the race all togather.ya.

  49. In answer to 12:28
The reason there are more Woerner Secreto & Artist signs in the city of Kingston is because they don't know Nicky like we do, they don't have to put up with all his bull the way we do, he's not granting favors to his friends in Kingston, well he's granting favors to his friends from Kingston but they are making a living off the backs of the hard working people of the Town of Ulster
Maybe he's gonna' run for Mayor of Kingston next election, and he's preparing the landscape. All I can say is good riddance and too soon is not soon enough!

  50. nick woerner and secreto an artist all need a sign with mr swebins face on it. because they all do what he tells them to do .maybe with his face on a billboard he can have a runningchance.but we better ask nicks mom first.secreto and artist will all go with the flow like allways.who cares who they takedown along the way.now if you have lots of money to hand out well thats a nother story.because its all about them and only them oneway street sign.

  51. I have no love for Woerner. I will not vote for him again. However, I found a problem with the opposition.

I always follow the contributions of candidates as we all should. Researching the Ulster Candidates, I found a very disturbing trend with the town Republicans. Everyone has to follow the rules. Ulster Republicans are not following the rules.

If Jim Quigley is selling responsible accounting, he sure has a funny way of showing it. He and the Republicans are currently in violation of financial disclosure laws.

    See for yourself.

  53. I think our town could be great, I thought so in 2005 and voted for Woerner, It was a hard choice in 2007, I figured give Nick the benefit of the doubt, he is young and made some mistakes in his 1st term. He's had 4 years to elevate our town to the standard our friends and neighbors deserve, sadly he has failed. I can non longer support him and have decided to vote Quigley, Morrow & Hendrick, Their message is so much more positive even in these tough times!

    ReplyDelete
  54. It would be nice if they could instill some confidence in their supporters by filing their financial disclosures on time. They killed Woerner and his crew of thugs for that last time.

I honestly feel like a hypocrite talking The Quigley team up on fiscal responsibility when they can't file on time? It works both ways right?

  55. Perhaps you should look at the BOE site. I see they were filed.

  60. 1:02 You sound like Dan Rather and the Bush National Guard records, I guess the information you see will never be enough so why bother!
I seriously doubt the veracity of your opening statement, 5:42:"I have no love for Woerner. I will not vote for him again."
There is just a little too much righteous indignation in what followed so I guess it's this way, You are entitled to your opinion, good luck with that!

  61. So why did Nick and Steve and Judy Aaron spend the entire afternoon on Thursday between 1PM and 7 PM holding court at Mike Spada Jr's Port-O-Bello Restaurant in Uptown Kingston? Who was the mystery man from New Jersey? A member of Acorn coming to Ulster to help Nick?

    ReplyDelete
  62. i doubt it. nick woerner is not important enough to get that kind of attention.

it is probably one of campaign consultants from the dirty nj governors race.

  63. Just had the time to catch up on the comments in this blog thread and I would like to add the following thought:

I am proud to call myself a Democrat, I have been and remain committed to the Democratic Principles I have come to respect from growing up my father’s son. I have served the Town of Ulster and Ulster County as a dedicated public servant for more years than I care to mention.
For as many years as I can remember, Rocky Secreto has been welcome in my father’s home. He has sat with us at the dinner table, shared in family gatherings and enjoyed the wisdom my father freely offered.
Since his first successful election as Councilman for the Town of Ulster, he has been a disappointment to me and the Principles I hold so dear. More importantly, I am confident that my father would be rolling over in his grave if he had any idea as to the manner in which Mr. Secreto has discharged his duties as a duly sworn ‘Public Servant’.
Rocky’s responsibility is to the town and all residents, not to the private agenda of Nick Woerner and his friends. It breaks my heart, (and I’m sure that of my fathers’s), to see him act so irresponsible and disrespect the constituents he was elected to serve.

    Disappointed Democrat

  64. Great website. I always vote for the person but lean towards Republicans. I voted for Woerner last time, but it is going to be hard to this time because I do really vote for the person.

Quigley will need support so I will vote for one other Republican. Morrow is a little too political for me. I think he would be a train wreck on the board so my vote goes to Hendrick. She is another cost cutter and that is what we need.

I bet Secreto will go along with Quigley the same way he did with Weorner as long as the Recreation Department stays intact.

Cahill does not get the credit he deserves, he is a worker and a very nice guy. Maloney is good guy too, but I would like to see him more active in real work and not just the political posturing.

Wadnola is already collecting 3 pensions. When is enough enough Freddie? I also think he is doing this to pump up business for the restaurant.

    Quigley YES

    Hendrick YES
    Secreto YES
    Kesick YES

    Cahill YES
    Maloney YES
