A Bit of a Twist

Events in town recently have been much like the past winter's snowfalls, 'few & far between', but like politics, less is often more. In the case of the Town of Ulster, less even better.
Supervisor Quigley seems to have managed the impossible. In playing by the rules and letting policy follow process Supervisor Quigley has managed to keep supporters content and detractors appeased, no small task in a small town. There will always be the odd extremest who claims to see the big picture but peers through at it through a microscope often extolling his or her own agenda as what's best for everyone. This elitist mentality, 'what's best for me is what's best for all', as if they have inside information from the great beyond, (they might, it is usually from where they hail), is what has destroyed many a community New York and around the country. The truth is the truth and only a balance between two extremes can benefit everyone in town. We need development, but.... we need smart development and when our elected officials let the process play out as in the case of Ulster Gardens, we can enjoy growth without sacrificing quality of life.
No one needs a history lesson to see the differences in the Town of Ulster today vs. the Town of Ulster just a few short years ago. No 'closed door' sessions, no questionable activities and no 'back room deals'. When you elect officials that lead and put process and policy before politics, the Town and it's residents benefit.

With the month of May just around the corner, the anticipation of summer is teasing parents and children alike, Ulster Little League will be holding Openning Cerimonies this Saturday, UISYTT would like to wish all little leaguers a fun filled and successful baseball season.
Whether or not you have a child participating, come down and watch a game or two this season, even more come down and lend a hand. We've seen the same faces year after year doing the grounds keeping, running the concession stand, coaching and keeping up appearences and we thank each and everyone for their contributions, a few more hands can only make things better.

  1. I know this is off topic and I loved Levon Helm. But, here is a disgusting piece of politics. Mike Hein, who I had heard took heat from Veterans for ordering the flags flown at 1/2 staff for Levon Helm's death tried to compensate by ordering the flag at 1/2 staff for a recently deceased Vet. he found a Vet who died on 4/17, and used this poor soul as his political tool. Disgusting, just disgusting.

  2. Hein is an asshole, he is just like the rest of the idiots that comprise the Bernardo's, the Woerner's, the Spada's, the Sinagra's, the Gallo's the epitomize all that's wrong with politics in Ulster County, the list is a long one but I won't list it here, OH btw Robin Yess is not doing her self or her cause any justice by focusing on the Bernardo's, every one outside of Ellenville know them for who or what they are.

  3. Hey is there any truth to the rumor that John Morrow is going to challange Quigley for the supervisor's Chair? Bad idea John, you can probably count all your support on one hand not counting your thumb, index finger, ring finger and pinky, get it John? I know I Know, who needs support when you've got intimidation!
Just think, you can't sit in the voting booth with them!

  4. Morrow has no chance. If Quigley chooses not to run, Morrow still has no chance, Mike Berardi will kick his a**.

  5. I agree 343 that guy thinks he is still a trooper, acts as if he is still an active law enforcer, the guy is a JOKER! I mean seriously, I dont believe he could find his way out of a wet paper bag with an arrow steering the way, he is as dumb as a box of rocks. Who gets a pension after just 10 years on the job, sounds suspicious to me; right? This guy is a one and done mark my words. People have already made their conclusions over this flunky. What has he done that would even give him a platform for reelection, that's right NOTHING! He has been riding Quigley's coattails along with the other one that has a term that is concluding soon. Quigley should align himself with winners the next election, this dope certainly isn't the answer. Nor is the other!

  6. 9:23, great point. Anyone whose only focus is revenge, will surely lose their message along the way. Robin Yess continues to try to blame the Bernardo's for her failures. Bad idea. She makes some good points on her two blogs, one hers, and one she does anonymously, but it starts to get tired. As bad as the bernardo's may be viewed, no one is wrong 100% of the time as Yess would have us believe.
