Woerner Won't Go Quietly Into That Good Night!

Just a few minutes into Thursdays Town Board Meeting was all one needed to see this is going to be a rough transition for Supervisor Elect Jim Quigley. Nick Woerner is already attempting to 'have it his way', behind closed doors, like most of his tenure as Supervisor. Fortunately Mr. Quigley intends on living up to his campaign promise of 'Transparency' and quickly put Mr. Woerner in his place.
Woerner's decision to have Councilman Joel Brink assist in the transition can only make the process more complicated than instructions for a backyard 'Jungle Gym' as Joel knows little of what's what, where it is and what it's for! Apparently Nick is reinforcing the voter's decision to replace him by acting as pompous and detached from the needs of the town as he was while in office.
Furthermore, Mr. Woerne's inviting former Town Attorney Andy Zweben to assist Mr. Quigley's transition team on a pro bono basis makes about as much sense as his voting 'NO' for his own budget proposal! It begs to question does he really think people are that naive?
I'm sure issues will arise, and with Mr. Zweben not being under oath, one must wonder if there will be more questions after his responses than before!
In any event, Mr. Woerner should look at the outcome of the election, (almost 2:1 against), and reflect on his actions as supervisor, he can choose to remain arrogant and angry or accept and learn from his mistakes. The latter would make a successful return to local politics more possible than the attitude he has adopted and the behavior he is determined to display.
After congratulations are conveyed and accepted it is clear the real winners are the residents of the town of Ulster.
Good Luck, Mr. Quigley, Mr. Morrow, Ms Baldeli-Hendrick & Judge Kesick.
As for Mr. Woerner, a Mortician's License is in order, you've shown a real aptitude for burying things, a political career for starters and sadly the Town of Ulster and the people who entrusted it in your care.

  1. Does any of this surprise anyone, after 4 years of consideration for the residents and their concerns, did anyone actually believe this small man capeable of any form of logical behavior.
He is acting as if his mommy sent his to his room with no TV! Or the chubby kid at the schoolyard who doesn't get picked to play on either team, but it's his ball and if he can't play no one can, 'he's taking his ball and going home!

  2. 7:33 I mean a "lack of Consideration for the residents and their concerns! But I'm sure you all knew that!

  3. If I wasn't so thrilled that Jim Quigley is our New Supervisor, I would certainly have something to say about the way nicky boy is acting, but lets face it he's not 'nicky boy' for no reason.
My real comfort comes from the fact that Aaron, Zweben, Bickert, Artist & Secreto, (both he and his wife), are no longer going to be able to rape the town and the good folks that live here.
It's almost like Europe after the Nazi's were defeated. It's like being liberated!
Say goodbye to Hitler aka (Woerner), Goering, aka (Aaron) & Mengele, aka (Zweben), and the rest of the goose stepping morons that tried to make this town their own personal piggy bank!
Let's not forget Ozzie, (I've got the sign contract right here) Bickert!

  4. It's a new beginning for the town and nick can't stop it. His kind of politics has no place in our town.
THe best of luck to Jim Quigley and our new town board members!

  5. There are other bright spots to Nickie and his crew losing. Although some may not agree, I think you are going to see decent people like Mike Berardi and Brian Cahill get a little more involved in town politics. There are good Democrats who dissapered when Nicky was elected. I guess they posed a threat to him so they were not welcome or they were smart enough to stay away.

Either way, look for a more respectful counter to the all Republican board, just like the old days!

  6. I think that Jim Q is secure enough to be free of influential self serving power brokers like Spada and Aaron to put the people's agenda above all else. It will make a few residents angry, some people in the town are opposed to any development, Jim will see that 'Smart Development' has a voice in Town Hall, this will give the town a chance to grow it's tax base and bring career based jobs to the area.
I don't believe in kicking a guy when he's down so although it's really difficult I'll refrain from discussing the past administration and repeat Jim's mantra in the attached video clip, "Let's look forward while fixing the town's problems and bring a new era to Town Hall"
I'd like to add, Jim Maloney for Legislative Chairman, Terry Bernardo for Majority Leader and Paul Hansuit for Chairman Ways & Means!
COngratulations to all especially to the residents of the Town & County of Ulster!
To Echo an earlier commenter: "HIP HIP HOORAY"

  7. As far as I'm concerned, Nick's career is over, he counted on the likes of Zweben Aaron etc to point him in the right direction, well that direction is out of town, they used him, he is either that naive or that stupid, Did he think that they had his interest in mind. in any event the Town is better off without him, let's hope he is smart enough to go out like a mature gentleman rather than the louse he has been for the past 4 years. although I don't think that's possible.
To repeat the original Post: Congratulations, Quigley, Morrow, Hendrick & Kesick, congrats also to Wadnola and Maloney.
The future is looking brighter for the Town of Ulster!

  8. The South is not going to sit by and watch Ulster take over the party. It is not going to happen.

  10. North & South you'd think we were fighting the civil war all over again!Oh we are and the North wins a second time!

  11. First Nickie, now the county. Ulster Republicans are in da house! Get used to it, we are here to stay. Maloney and Wadnola will stop whatever Hein tries to do.

  12. It's time for Mario C to step up to the plate once again and let those guys down south know who swung the voters out, just look at the northern turnout, for an off year it was great. It's time we up north showed the entire county what progress and prosperity is all about.
starting with the Town of Ulster, and spreading outward, good growth, smart development lower taxes and better representation, Go Mario Go!

  13. Somebody ought'a give that woerner guy a boot in the right place, he needs a trip to the woodshed, Oh that's right Quigley already took him to the woodshed!
But seriously can't anyone talk to him, he is really looking worse than a 2 year old about this transition stuff.
Does he think by being an ass he's gonna' turn back the clock or prevent JAnuary from coming?
